Metamaterial Architecture

At the core of Kapta’s radar antenna architecture lie metamaterial antennas providing wide electronic scanning without the cost and power consumption of fully steerable digital phased or AESA’s.

We call it MESA: Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array

Each MESA radar module is software defined and scaled to form a hybrid architecture that provides breakthrough performance at lower cost.


MESA is not:

  • An invisibility cloak

  • Using negative-index of refraction

  • Relying on exotic materials or manufacturing processes

  • Relying on phase shifters or RF beamformers within the core MESA module
